Sermon Title: The Real Messiah – A Biblical Libretto of Hope

Sermon Theme: During the Christmas season, there are many around us who experience distress and despair during a time that is supposedly festive. By exploring the backstory of one of the lasting Christmas musical traditions we can provide hope and courage for those who need it.Biography: Willie Davis was born in Macon, GA and raised in Atlanta, GA. He was raised by a single mother and after a circuitous journey that included failing out of undergrad and an enlistment in the US Navy, He was awarded a was awarded a PhD in Biochemistry from Meharry Medical College (Nashville, TN) where he became a member of the Seventh-day Adventist movement. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the National Cancer Institute (Bethesda, MD) and has been a faculty member the School of Pharmacy since 2004. Willie currently serves as the Associate Dean, Student Services. He is married to Dr. Eileen Brantley, an Associate Professor at the School of Medicine, and they are the extraordinarily proud parents of Joram Davis, an incredible artist and person.
